About Our School
Welcome to Indian Hills Elementary School—home of curious minds and caring hearts.
Indian Hills Elementary is a vibrant learning community nestled in foothills of Salt Lake City, serving approximately 450 students from preschool through sixth grade. Our dedicated team of 57 educators and support staff is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child can learn, grow, and succeed.
A special feature of our school is our Resident Scientist who brings hands-on, inquiry-based science experiences to every classroom. Her work helps students see themselves as scientists—questioning, experimenting, and discovering the world around them.
Indian Hills is also a Beverley Taylor Sorenson (BTS) Visual Arts School, where students experience the joy of creative expression every week under the guidance of renowned art teachers.
We are proud to host the Salt Lake City School District’s Advanced Learner Magnet Program, offering enriched academic experiences for students who thrive on challenge, creativity, and depth of learning. This program reflects our belief that every learner deserves opportunities to explore their full potential.
At Indian Hills Elementary, we focus on learning and growth in every sense—academic, social, and emotional. Our students are encouraged to take risks, explore new ideas, and care for one another as they build the skills and confidence needed for lifelong success.
We guide all students through our shared expectations to Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible—values that shape how we learn, work, and play together each day.
Together, we are cultivating a community where every child feels valued, capable, and inspired to make a difference.
