Eagle Update

Indian Hills Elementary

An outdoor movie screen displays a film against a vibrant sunset.

Dear Eagle Families

We had many families in the building this past week for several wonderful events:

  • Book Fair – Special thanks to our librarian, Ms. Savage!
  • SEP Conferences – Our teachers loved the delicious dinner provided by the PTO.
  • Movie Night – It was a beautiful evening and another great example of how our PTO brings our community together.
People gather at a table under a tent, possibly at an outdoor event.
This week is a short one as we head into Fall Break! There will be no school for students October 16–20.

Yours in the work,
Dr. Pettersson

It was so great to see all of our families coming to visit the school during SEPs this week. I hope you stopped by our table in the atrium and picked up some origami. Big shout out to our amazing Librarian Mrs. Savage for hosting another amazing book fair in the library. One of my favorite parts of SEP is seeing all of the students leaving with books they are pumped to read. This week I’ll be running SEL lessons with grades 3-6, here’s a look at what we’ll be doing:

3rd – 4th Grade - New Kids on the Block: Brainstorm ways we can welcome and talk to new
students.
5th Grade – HAIKUUL: Recognize our social and emotional needs and the social and emotional needs of others around us. Identify the behaviors and solutions to help us in meeting those needs. Develop a plan to help improve behavior in your group or class.
6th Grade – The Me List: Identify and share our personal learning needs. Discuss how family members, friends, teachers, or other trusted adults can support us in positive ways.
