Student Government

The Student Government at Indian Hills Elementary is involved in service learning.  The officers along with the class representatives and alternates decide as a group upon various service projects.  Our yearly service project involves the collecting of can tabs (soda pop, soup, etc.).  These tabs are donated to The Ronald McDonald House, who in turn, recycles the tabs and uses the funds to subsidize the cost of staying at their hotel.  The Ronald McDonald House provides housing for parents/families of children who are patients of Primary Children’s Hospital.

Other service projects that the Student Government has been involved in are writing letters to our Military Service Men and Women; creating cards and art for the Veteran’s Hospital; collecting sweatshirts/pants and making monetary donations to Primary Children’s Hospital; donating cat and dog food to the Best Friends of Utah; and raising funds for the Leukemia Society.
