Thank you, families, for working so hard with us to keep our Eagles safe during arrival and dismissal! It's remarkable to me how effective the procedures are when everyone knows their part. This year, we are safely sending 500 bodies out of the building and on their way in 8 minutes (on average)!
When we work together, we not only stay safe, but also save everyone's precious time.
This year, we clarified our “walk your wheels” for our dismount zone campus. As we have put it into practice, we have learned a little more detail is needed to make sure we are all on the same page.
For our children's safety, Indian Hills' campus is Walk-Only for all wheeled vehicles. This includes both human-powered and e-powered wheels (e.g., bikes, e-bikes, skateboards, e-skateboards, scooters, and e-scooters).
Once within the designated Dismount Zone, students and adults should “walk their wheels” on sidewalks and crosswalks. E-powered devices must also be powered off and walked throughout the Dismount Zone.
With hundreds of students, families, and staff moving through a relatively small space each morning and afternoon, these simple steps make a big difference. Thank you for helping us keep every Eagle safe!
If you would like to discuss this further, please send me a DM or schedule a time to talk face-to-face.
KA-KAW!
