Dear Families,
We are entering what educators sometimes call the “long slog” of the school year — the stretch between now and Spring Break when there are no scheduled breaks on the calendar. During this time, routines and consistency make a tremendous difference for students.
This is an especially important time for learning as students continue building skills and preparing for end-of-level assessments later this spring. One of the most helpful things families can do during this stretch is ensure that students arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day. Being present for the start of the school day helps students feel settled, connected, and prepared to engage in their learning.
Our teachers are working incredibly hard to support students academically and socially during this busy time of year. Thank you for partnering with us and for all you do at home to support strong routines, good rest, and a positive start to each day.
We appreciate you!
Warmly,
Dr. P. 🦅
P.S. Indian Hills is AGAIN the Attendance G.O.A.T. our February attendance was best in the district! But, we have yet to receive the trophy for lowest chronic absenteeism. A student is chronically absent if they miss 10% or more of school (excused and unexcused count); that's roughly 13 days or more as of today.
Why do we care? Because students do better academically, socially, emotionally, and physically when they have consistent routines and regular opportunities to engage with their classmates.
