Programs for Advanced Learners

Indian Hills has a variety of options for advanced learners. We are proud to host one of the Salt Lake City School District’s Magnet sites for Gifted and Talented Learners (full time) and offer AAMP enrichment (part time).

Magnet Gifted & Talented Program

  • Students are identified for Magnet services through a district led assessment process in the spring of their Kindergarten or 3rd grade year.
  • Magnet students are taugh by certified teachers who have a Gifted and Talented Education Endorsement.
  • Magnet classes begin in the 1st grade.
  • In addition to the Magnet services, all students at Indian Hills participate in Hands-On Science and BTS Art.

 

AAMP: Advanced Academics and Mentoring Program

  • We also provide part-time services for qualified students through AAMP.
  • Students receive up to 3 hours a week of enrichment to further their knowledge and skills.
  • Students are identified through the same assessment process as the Magnet program.
  • The enrichment lessons are taught by certified teachers who have a Gifted and Talented Education Endorsement.
  • AAMP classes begin in the 4th grade.
