Eagle Update

Indian Hills Elementary

Dear Eagle Families:

We wrapped up a fantastic Red Ribbon Week and Halloween at Indian Hills! We appreciate everyone who helped reinforce healthy choices with our Eagles and ensured Halloween was joyful, safe, and well-organized!

Tomorrow, our 3rd-grade team will be honored at the Salt Lake City School District Board Meeting for the exceptional reading achievement results at our school. This recognition celebrates the dedicated work of our teachers, our students' progress, and the support of our families.

We are proud of our Eagles and grateful for the outstanding teaching and collaboration that make these results possible!

See you soon!
Warmly,
Dr. Pettersson

Wow! What an incredible Red Ribbon Week we had at IHE. So many incredible activities during recess and lunch, raffles, cheerleaders performing for the students, and fun dress-up activities every day. It was also a blast to participate in the Halloween parade with the entire school; the whole week was full of positive community-building activities.

This week in SEL:
  • Kindergarten: Emotional Building Blocks (Nervous & Relaxed): Identify and explore the Emotional Building Blocks, “Nervous” & “Relaxed”. Describe examples of people, places, and things that make us feel these two emotions.
  • 1st Grade: Emoger #1 – Tighten & Release: Identify how we can use the emotional management strategy: Tighten and Release.
  • 2nd Grade: Circle of Friends – Identifying emotions, expressing emotions, respect for others, empathy

Providing opportunities for students and families to get flu shots is an important part of our effort to help keep our community healthy each school year.
Our district nurse will be here on Friday 11/7 providing an optional, free flu-shot clinic for our students and families.
  • Permission slips are being sent home, as well as attached electronically. Parents do not need to be present but signed permission form is required.
  • All uninsured students are eligible. SLCSD can also process most private insurance (see flyer for specific details/instructions).
  • Any uninsured parents and siblings are also eligible to come and receive flu-shots here.

*If your student is in need of any other required immunizations, please reach out to Kim in the front office for more information about receiving them at this clinic.
